The FMST closing ceremony of the year 2011

In the ceremony Toni Matilainen was awarded as the best rifle shooter of the year. Kai
Jahnsson was awarded as the best pistol shooter.
Marko Talvitie was named the best shooter in the mil nordic event. Pentti Lehtimäki (in
the middle), former FDF chief of personnel and
the president of FMST visited the ceremony and he was passed a present due to his 75
anniversary last summer.
Jussi Puustinen and Antti Jokinen ended their career as military shooters.

Pistol shooters took gold medals in centre fire pistol and military rapid fire pistol team
events.
Marko Talvitie got bronze in military rapid fire pistol event.
Rifle shooters got bronze in SR and military rapid fire rifle team event.

5th Military World Games - The Peace Games -
in Rio de Janeiro, BRA.
The FIN Rifle team chased a bronze medal SR team event after NOR and
SLO. Henri Häkkinen did 587, Kari Pennanen and Toni Matilainen 573.

The 5th Military World Games will be organised
in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia 13.-26.7.2011.
The great event consists of twenty different military sport disciplines. Estimated number
of participants is 8000.

Juha Rutonen and Jari
Javarus are the new champions in military field shooting 2011. The Finnish
Defence Forces field shooting championships took place
in Taipalsaari, near Lappeenranta, FIN. Rutonen took gold in rifle before Juha
Rinta-Keturi and Aarne Markko.
Javarus was the best in pistol shooting. Keimo Korpioksa and Tapio Ranta took the other
medals. Javarus was also the best in service rifle.
The two winners have a quota for the Nordic Military
Shooting Championships in Denmark 5.-9.9.2011. The FMST is planned to participate in
the event
with 5 male range shooters both in pistol and rifle with some specialist field shooters.
The female team may also take part in the games.
Kari
Pennanen was again the best Finn in the military rapid fire rifle event in at
Sonthofen, GER. Kari did a result of 556 (197-171-188) and
was the sixth.
Juha Rutonen shot 543 (197-166-180) and Toni Matilainen got 540 (192-165-183). The winner
of the day was was Hans Christian Wear (NOR) 576,
the second Odd Arne Brekne (NOR) 565 and the third Hans Muller (SUI) 563. In a team event
Finland got bronze medals after Norway and Switzerland.
Kari Pennanen
got a result of 571 (199-183-189) in SR event at Sonthofen,
GER being on the fourth place. Juha Rutonen shot 570 (198-184-188)
and Toni Matilainen did get 569 (198-182-189). The winner of the day was Michel Podolak
(AUT) with 578, the second Hans Muller (SUI) 577
and the third was Hans Christian Wear (NOR) 576.

Toni
Matilainen was the best FMST rifle shooter in CISM regional event in
Sonthofen, GER. Toni did 573 (196-187-190) in a standard rifle team competition.
Kari Pennanen was just a little behind him with 572 (196-186-190). The third Finnish, Juha
Rutonen shot 568 (199-187-182).
The best individual result was done by Odd Arne Brekne (NOR) 585. All Finnish shooter will
shoot tomorrow in the individual event.
According to the Finnish coach, Matti Viljakainen, this regional event is organised very
professionally and in pleasent way at a pretty nice, 10-lane shooting range.
Kai
Jahnsson gained an olympic quota to London 2012 games in USA World Cup in
Fort Benning!
Kai shot 584 in elimination in air pistol and was the fifth. In the final Kai shot 100.1
points and was left on 5th place (total 684.1) but was still happy!
The winner was Leonid Ekimov (RUS) with 585 + 104.2 =689.2 points.

Henri
Häkkinen was a quite near in getting an olympic quota for London 2012
olympics. Henri was the ninth in 50 metre rifle 3 x 40 event.
The chasing for the quota was very hard and Henri lost his chance only after shoot-off for
final; the other two in line were more happy.
Marko
Räsänen took two medals in the 39th Helli Rassi memorial event in Elva, EST
30.4.2011. Marko was the best in standard Pistol with 570
and the third in military rapid fire pistol 577. Petri Ylinen took also two medals: the
third in SP (560) and the second in MRFP (578).
FMST Rifle shooting camp was organised 4.-8.2011 in Lahti-Hälvälä. Despite it
is quite early spring
the results were promising. The next step in FMST Rifle is henri's participating in Korea
and USA WC's
and the other team is preparing to Sonthofen (GER) Regional CISm in late May.

China will organise WMSC-2012. The info was forwarded on tuesday 15.3.2012 to HQ
Bruessels.
The time will probably be second half in September. Great, thanks to China
Delegation.
The FMST year 2011. The main events for the year
2011 are 5th Military World Games in Rio, BRA
(July) and
Nordic Military Shooting Championships in Vingsted
Shooting Centre and Camp Borris, DEN (September).
The first strive in a way to Rio is European Championships in air guns in Brescia, Italy.
The FMST is represented by Kai Jahnsson
and Henri Häkkinen. Brescia games open also the last, one year long run to get a visa for
London Olympics.
