Kari Pennanen (right) is telling
"the last secrets" to Tapio Säynevirta (centre)
in 60 shots prone team competition
at 300 metres.

After first heat Finland was on the second
place only one point behind the
Norwegian team, which was leading
and there was many other teams very
close behind.

Tapio Säynevirta did his very best in prone
competition but it was until the last serie the
Finnish team lost the gold medal by three
points and bronze medal by one point.

2. USA 1783 (296)
3. Sweden 1783 (294)

Tapio Säynevirta 592 (592)

Tapio was very honest and told the media that
he had not skills enough on that day and
so the others were much better.

Helena Juppala was one of the best finnish shooters
at Lahti. In the sport rifle competition (3-pos)
she was the second.
Because she was ready in her performance
little earlier than the winning shooter,
Charlotte Jakobsen (DEN), and so
Helena hold a new world record, 584,
unfortunately only a while.

Helena gained two medals in Lahti. Besides this medal from sport rifle
competition, she was a team member in the sport rifle prone competition
at 50 metres where Finland got a gold medal.
