Kai Jahnsson succeeded in EC-finals by being the second in the standard pistol and the the third in centre fire pistol in Thun, Switzerland.
Kai shot 570 in the event and had tie with Pål Hembre (NOR). In the shoot-outs Kai was better by 48 - 47. The winner was Rene Vogn (DEN) by 572.
In centre fire Kai did 581, only one point less than his co-native Ari Meinander who was the second.
The winner was Frank Dumoulin (FRA) with 585 points (precision 297).

An extra ordinary sport career has ended due to the retirement.
Kimmo Tulonen had high feelings when shooting military rapid fire in the Finnish army champs. Tulonen was a military team member years 1983-2009.
The best individual achievement was the 5.place in MRFR in the CISM Ankara, Turkey 2000. Furthermore he was a team medalist
1983, 1995, 2001, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
In the picture below he is shooting extra kneeling with a 50 person audience, narrating and applauses. The score was 94 points ending inner X, of course!

The FMST in the 44th CISM World Shooting Championships in Zagreb, Croatia 10.-17.8.2009.
Jussi Puustinen took the world championship in standard rifle 3P event in Croatia. Jussi scored 583 before Cyrill graff 582 (21x)
and Amgad Houssein  582 (20x). Henri Häkkinen was 12. (581, 15x) and Kimmo Tulonen was 25 (574, 20x).
The finnish rapid fire rifle team chased silver medal in team event after NOR and before USA. Look more here

FMST in the EPSO-European Shooting Championsihips in Osijek, Croatia
- Henri Häkkinen: 50m prone 55./586; 50m 3P 43./1148; 300m prone 13./594; standard rifle 5./583; and 300m 3P 8./1168
- Jussi Puustinen: 50m prone (580); 50m 3P 58./1136; 300m prone 12./594; standard rifle (561); and 300m 3P 21./1150
- Kai Jahnsson: 50m pistol  21./549; 25m standard pistol 11./565, 25m centre fire pistol 7./581
- Jorma Jäntti: 25m standard pistol 32./549, 25m centre fire pistol 26./571.

FMST managed very well the Nordic Military Shooting Championships in Borris/Århus in Denmark june 2009.
The FMST got gold medal in rapid fire pistol, field shooting pistol and rapid fire rifle. Team silver was gained in centre fire pistol and standard rifle.
Furthermore Kai Jahnsson was the second in rapid fire and the third in centre fire. Henri Häkkinen won rapid fire rifle and was the second in
standard rifle. Jussi Puustinen was the third in rapid fire rifle. Marko Räsänen was the second in field shooting pistol.

Jorma Jäntti was elected to national team for the ECH-2009 together with Kai Jahnsson, Jussi Puustinen, Toni Matilainen
and Henri Häkkinen.

Kai Jahnsson competed fully advantageously with Pål Hembre in EC standard pistol competition in Hannover, Germany on 3.5.3009.
Jahnsson's result was 571 against Hembre's 568. The day before in the centre fire pistol event was Hembre better than Jahnsson with results
584 vs 582. Petri Ylinen was the 4th with 577 points. Jahnsson and Hembre you can find in the end of this page.

Finnish Military Shooters were victorious in Regional CISM event in Pilsen, Chech. The pistol team won the military rapid fire
istol team match. In the MRFP indivual competition Petri Ylinen (4th on the right) was the second after Pal Hempre (NOR) with 584 points.
Kai Jahnsson was also in a good mood by being the third (582) in the centre fire pistol.
The rifle shooters were the third in standard rifle team match.

Almost a new comer, Jorma Jäntti made a big suprise by being the second in centre fire pistol in EC Vierumäki 2009. Jäntti shot 574,
which was only two points behind swedish Jonas Fyhrpihl. The third was Marko Räsänen after a shoot-off (48-47) with Pekka Vaarala.
Their beasic result was 572. Jäntti earned a EC final visa to Thun, Switzerland in september this year.

A good summer season start.  Henri Häkkinen participated Beijing World Cup in april. He was 7th (595) in small bore rifle prone and 12th (594) in air rifle.
In the same time Kari Pennanen was in 300 metre EC in Århus, Danmark, and was the 5th in the free rifle 3-position (1158, 1151 in elimination),
the 11th (592, 596 in elimination) in prone, and the 10th (574, 578 in elimination) in standard rifle. The finnish team got silver in free rifle 3P and bronze
in prone. Juha Peltonen and Juha Rutonen were also members in the Finnish Team.
The military pistol team visited Elva, Estonia, and Ville Nousiainen got his first merits in the military shooting by being the best (584) in military rapid fire pistol.
Jorma Jäntti was the second best of finnish team with 575 in CF.

The triumph of Henri Häkkinen goes on. On January 29th  he was awarded the best finnish military athlete of the year 2008.
Henri was not present at the ceremony while being in Munich International Air Match Event. There he did quite well by shooting 595 + 104.0.
Henri's coach, Tapio Säynevirta, was awarded as the best military coach of the year 2008.

Henri Häkkinen was awarded the prize of the finnish sport breaker of the year 2008. The award of all sports was given in the national
sport gala  12.1.2008 in live TV broadcast. One of the arguments, as we can easily recognise, was the third place in olympic air rifle match in Beijing.
Henri was very smiley in the celebration and said on the stage that this was a start to be gained further.

Henri was not the only honoured shooter in the sport gala while Satu Mäkelä-Nummela, the dashing finnish trap shooter,
who won the female trap event in Beijing, achieved the best finnish athlete and the best finnish female athlete awards.
Huge congratulations to both of you, Satu and Henri.

Kai Jahnsson started the new shooting year with precision. In the Nordic Air Rifle Championships in Sävjsö, Sweden, he conquered the
gold medal with furious chase before norwegian Pål Hembre. Jahnsson's result was 669,8 (572 + 97,8) and Hembre's was 668,2 (576 + 92,2).
