Last year's military world champion, Jussi Puustinen was the best shooter
in standard rifle 3P elimination (team match) match in Plzen CISM Regional on tuesday
27.4.
Jussi scored mighty good 585. The second was Vebjorn Berg (NOR) 582 and the third
Sebastian Liebelt (GER) 581.
Toni Matilainen, a debytant in military events, did promising 579 and was
the 6th. Kari Pennanen 572 and Juha Rutonen 565.
The Finnish team was the second, only three points after Norway team. The bronze team was
SUI 6 points after FIN.
Jussi Puustinen continued his good performances in the standard rifle 3P
individual event. He scored 581 and was the third.
The winner of the day was Stian Bogar (NOR) with 585 and the silver medalist Milan Mach
(CZE) with 584.
Toni Matilainen did 573 (10.), Kari Pennanen did 570 (14.) and Juha Rutonen 553 (24).
When the day of mil rapid fire rifle arose, was feelings in the finnish team very high.
The question was, what medal Jussi Puustinen would take that day.
And surely Jussi was good. He did 566, but unfortunately there is always a norwegian, or
many, who is ahead of finns. This time too.
Vebjorn Berg was the winner of the day with huge 583, five points above the standing world
record (Vebörn is sharing that with Steohen Goff, USA).
The other medallist were norwegian Odd Brekne 570 and Stian Bogar 566. Bogar got 18 inner
tens while Jussi had 9.
Kari Pennanen got 549, Juha Rutonen 544 and Toni Matilainen 531. The Finn team were the
second after norwegian team. The bronze team was Switzerland.
In the centre fire pistol team match the swedish team was the gold medal winner. The
finnish team was 9 points behind and Poland was the third.
In the individual results was Heinz Költringer (AUT) the best with 581, the second Josef
Fiola (CZE) 576 and the third Håkan Sjöberg (SWE) 576.
Marko Räsänen had a little better day in the centre fire individual
event than in a team match. He scored 575 and gained 4th place.
The winner was Heinz Költringer (AUT) with 584 and the second Josef Fiola (CZE) with 577,
like the third Tomasz Krolik (POL).
Petri Ylinen did 569, Ville Nousiainen 569 and Jorma Jäntti 567.

In the mil rapid fire pistol, the finn Marko Räsänen had good gaming. He
scored in team event 589 points and did the best pistol result of the day.
It was no doubt that this man from the eastern front was very pleased. Petri Ylinen did
also good 579, Ville Nousiainen 567 and Jorma Jäntti 559 in the team event.
The finnish team won the team event. Hooray!

In the individual mil rapid fire, Marko was on a good mood, again. He scored 579 and won
the silver medal in shoot-off against Håkan Sjöberg (SWE) devastating by 50 - 48.
The winner was Josef Fiala (CZE) with 581. Jorma Jäntti and Ville Nousiainen did
574. Petri Ylinen scored 569.
