The FMST participated the 34rd World Military Shooting Championships in Boden, Sweden 14.-21.9.2008.
The rifle team got 4. place and 6.place. The pistol team was almost as good and took the 6. and 8.places.

Henri Häkkinen equalised Finnsh record in free rifle 300 metre prone.On saturday 30.8.2008 Henry shot 600 points in free rifle prone in Oulu, Finland.
This was the 5th time some finnish shot mighty 600 points in free rifle prone event. Henry used Grunig-Elmiger and Nammo-Lapua 6.5 x 47 ammunition.

Henri Häkkinen was awarded a medal of military bravery by the commander in chief of the Finnish Defence Forces, admiral Juhani Kaskeala 28.8.2008.
The high commander pointed out that to be a good officer in the army and a international level sportsman at the same time is a great matter of admiration.

The most amazing achievement in a year 2008 occured when Kai Jahnsson and Henri Häkkinen participated in the olympic games in Beijing 2008.
Kai Jahnsson was the 30th in air pistol (574) and 22nd (553) in 50 metre pistol.
Henri Häkkinen took bronze in air rifle (699,4 = 598 + 101,4). BRAVO!
Monday 11th, august 2008 was very good to finnish sport shooting while Satu Mäkelä-Nummela won olympic gold medal in female trap.

FMST in Regional CISM, Plzen Chech
Finnish military shooters did marvelous performances in regional CISM in Plzen 28.4-2.5.2008.
The pistol team won centre fire event and was the second in mil rapid fire. The rifle team took the champion in mil rapid fire and was the third in standard rifle event.
Henri Häkkinen was the best both in standard rifle and mil rapid fire. He was nominated as the best rifle shooters of whole championship.
Jussi Puustinen was the 3rd in mil rapid fire. Antti Jokinen did the best finnish individual performance in pistol.

FMST in Heli Rassi Memorial, Elva, Estonia 26.4.2008

chased a victory in military rapid fire pistol event in Heli Rassi competition.
Tom did good 580 points. The second was Marko Räsänen by 578 and the third Ville Nousiainen by 577.
This is a good start for pistol team. The "A-team" is participating Plzen regional CISM next week and we are waiting more succes.

Juha Rinta-Keturi became one of the latest finnish military shooter who has got international success.
Juha was on the second place in 300 metre prone shooting in EC-300 Plzen, Chech on 23.4.2008.
Juha got the same result 594 as the winner Hans Bakken, but his last serie was only 99 points against 100 of Bakken.
The third was Matthias Raiber, last year's european champion, with 594, as well.

FMST in Beijing Pre-Olympics

Kai Jahnsson did quite good 578 (94+97+97+97+94+99) in air pistol event in Beijing Pre-Olympics on sunday.
His ranking was the 27th. On tusday he will have the elimination event of free pistol (50 m).
Henri Häkkinen was also on the 27th place in air rifle event with result 593. His series were (100+98+99+100+100+96).
He said that he was not properly relaxed, and the game ended quite badly in the last serie. However the 9-hits were still quite near the ten ring.
The best finn so far has been Hanna Etula who were 9th in the air rifle event (396) missing only one point from final.

Henri Häkkinen reached one of his dreams by doing 600 points in air rifle event.
This fabulous moment took place in the Finnish Championships in air rifle team competition 15.2.2008.
Henri was very reliefed after seeing the great result to be true before this year's major challenges.
The result is also a new finnish record. Henry had the old one as well, when he shot 599 two years ago.

Good launch for the new year 2008 by Henri Häkkinen and Kai Jahnsson, Swedish Cup, Sävsjö 3-5.1.2008
Henri Häkkinen has got a very good start for the olympic year 2008. In Famous Sävsjö Cup (SWE) he achieved high scores in air rifle events. His average in this heavy tournament was 596 points (595, 596, 596). Henri was the second best male shooter, only 4 total points in three match behind swedish Jonas Jacobson. The third was hungarian Peter Sidi one point behind Henri. Henri won the third match after shooting 104 points in final.
Not only Henri was in good shape but Kai Jahnsson maintained his mental balance and won the whole air pistol tournament after three match champions. His average result was 579 (579, 577, 580). The second was swedish Dick Lindgren 571 (avg) and the third danish Thomas Statager 570 (avg). Kai said after the tournament that he feels quite good, but there are some details to improve before high season.
