The championships started very well for
Finnish shooters while Henri Häkkinen did 584 in standard rifle. Häkkinen was quite
outstandind and won Danish Rene Christiansen by four points. The third was Hans Bakken
(NOR).Other Finns were Kari Pennanen, the 5th by 577; Toni Matilainen 7th by 575; Juha
Rutonen 11th by 573; and Jussi Puustinen 12th by 572. Finland won the team event by one
point before Norway. The Finnish result is only one point less than the FMST-record in
five man team (2008 Elverum, NOR).
Two days later Marko Räsänen took also an individual champion in military rapid
fire pistol. He performed nice 584. The second was Pål Hembre, an icon in military
shooting, by 581. Petri Ylinen was the third by 579 and Kai Jahnsson 5th by 573. Finland
took the team champion by 2310 points which equalises the FMST-record (2008 Jägerpris,
DAN).
The centre fire pistol was mastered by Pål Hembre. He did 583 and this was his
20th champion in Nordics. Petri Ylinen was on the third place by 577. Ville Nousiainen was
4th with 574, Jorma Jäntti 5th with 573, Marko Räsänen 6th with 572 and Kai Jahnsson
12th with 569.
In the military rapid fire rifle Norway took three first places. The best was Arild
Röyseth (576). Henri Häkkinen was on th 5th place after havin shot 565. Jussi Puustinen
8th with 555. Kari Pennanen shot 551, Juha Rutonen 548 and Toni Matilainen 542.
In the female sport pistol Sanni Nuotiomaa was 6th with 548. She did 545 in the
military rapid fire pistol.
In the 50 metre rifle Nina Pernu and Eija Pulkki shot both 580. In the 3P event
they shot 553 and 547.
There were 117 participants in these 43. Nordic Military Shooting Championships. The Belgium and Latvian Team was the first countries beyond Nordic countries to participate the Nordic military shooting event.
